Arthur Fiedler was conductor of the Boston Pops
from 1930 until his death in 1979.


In January 1980, John Williams was named the 19th conductor of
the Boston Pops Orchestra since its founding in 1885.

After his retirement in December 1993,
Williams assumed the title of Laureate Conductor.
